Chagrin Falls

Mini-Post

If you find yourself driving through northeastern Ohio, or visiting Cleveland, Chagrin Falls is a cute little town filled with independent stores and boutique shops — a great place to spend a morning or afternoon.

We visited family who live nearby and ventured over to the main street for the Sunday morning farmers' market. I can't say we had the earliest start...so a fair number of booths were already packing up, but it was so nice to see so many people out and enjoying the day — a far different vibe than this time last year!

First up, Heartwood Coffee & Bakery.

Make sure to order their Nola Iced Coffee: iced coffee filled with spices and chicory, topped with a splash of milk. My chai molasses cookie didn't make it for a photo op, and I think any of their sweet treats will be a winner!

Coffee in hand, wander up and down the street checking out the book stores, clothing and home decor shops and other eateries. One of my favorite parts about this area is how many independent stores they have. I have yet to visit another place in the US like this, where you can actually find quality, unique clothing, food, and gifts that will feel special because they aren't from a big box store.

A short drive out of town brings you to Sulphur Springs park, which is filled with walking paths, hiking trails and neat waterfalls to explore.

If you're still around for lunchtime (or dinner if you made an afternoon of it), local chain Flipside has amazing burgers and Jeni's ice cream sports retro milkshake counter vibes with inventive homemade flavors.

Enjoy Chagrin!
